Genesis opens with creation. Before asking what we can achieve, Torah invites us to consider the world we have received and our responsibility within it.

Take this into today: Notice one thing you usually take for granted. Give it your attention, and ask how you can care for it.

This practical reflection is a starting point for study, rather than a translation or a legal ruling.
